Two Utah girls, 9 and 4, steal family car to ‘swim with dolphins’ in California

Two young children stole their parents’ car to hit the open road and drive from Utah to California, a distance of 700 miles, to “swim with dolphins”, the police said.

The sisters, aged nine and four, took the keys to the Chevrolet Malibu early on Wednesday morning and sneaked out through the basement of their family home in a Salt Lake City suburb.

They then drove ten miles, including along the Route 201 expressway and another major road, before colliding with another vehicle and smashing into a lorry. Both children were wearing seatbelts, The Salt Lake Tribune reported, and no one was harmed in the incident.
