Driver trapped in truck under live power lines after crash in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – A truck crashed into a parked car and then a tree and finally a utility pole, bringing live wires down across the car. The power company de-energized the lines so first responders could reach the driver trapped inside. The crash happened at 19th and Willamette streets as the truck was southbound.

Police expect the road to remain closed until 12:30 p.m.

Tim Haywood said investigators suspect the driver suffered a medical emergency, leading to the crash.
